  • Collaborates with local Engineering team members and Operations in the development, implementation and monitoring of annual capital improvement plans that identify and prioritize capital projects. Assists in developing annual capital budgets, including evaluating alternatives, designs, cost estimating and project scheduling.
  • Oversees construction activities to achieve budget and schedule compliance as critical activities to ensure that company financial, compliance and operational objectives are met including site visits.
  • Coordinates bidding and construction phases of projects with local Engineering Team members, Operations, other departments, outside contractors, and suppliers. Ensures that operational needs are addressed.
  • May prepare or direct the preparation of permit applications, which will cover a wide range of land development, zoning, construction, and environmental approvals, at the local, state and federal levels. Meets with public officials and regulatory agency personnel to assist with obtaining project permits and authorizations.
  • Will assisit with community notifications prior to construction and interact with local community members within Aqua Water and Wastewater Systems.
  • Prepares contract documents and manage all aspects of procurement and construction. Supervise construction inspectors for multiple concurrent projects and support of ongoing duties.
  • Represents the company at various state and local levels. Establishes and maintains positive public relations with key customers, local officials, state regulators, other state agencies, elected officials and industry groups.
  • Assists with extension agreements, costs and easements for developer installed water main extensions.
  • With assistance from Engineering Team Members, review construction plans for commercial and industrial services including commercial fire services, backflow devises and customer services. Coordinates interaction with the customer and their contractor.
  • Closeout projects and update water system maps, records, and electronic data in a timely fashion, i.e., reconcile inventory, record drawings, asset completion and retirement reports, GIS, AIMS and Maintenance Connection.
  • Ensures compliance with required safety policies and programs.
  • Performs other assignments as required.

Education Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree preferred but not required

Experience Level

  • 2-4 Years of Related Experience

Office Technology Level

  • Basic ability to use Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Project Scheduling Software such as MS Project, Primavera, Monday, etc.
  • Procore, preferred but not required
  • SAP, preferred but not required

Communication Skills

  • Interprets facts and provides explanations verbally and in writing - investigating skills needed.

Overall Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position will require the candidate to travel from office to the field, where they will be required to inspect active construction sites. This will require walking on uneven and recently disturbed soils, around construction machinery, climb ladders and stairs, use of mobile devices to photograph and report on site conditions and construction status. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The Construction Coordinator position will average 25% in office and 75% driving and field time over a 40 hour work week.
