Job Responsibilities:
Provides overall direction, strategy and leadership for the Advanced Practice Provider Service Line. Ensures the effective administrative management of clinical functions related to personnel and policy in order to meet the specialized needs of the patients and families we serve.
Role Accountabilities Include:
- Serves as role model for MD/APP collaboration. Serves as a resource to supervising physicians, physician leadership, APPs and administrative leadership regarding APP models of care that are best suited for the entity, through scope of practice and how APPs can best support the mission, vision and values of the entity.
- Identifies and implements innovation in APP collaborative care practice models. Works in partnership with division chiefs to ensure APPs practice to the full extent of their license and education, as defined by their governing bodies. Develops APP associated metrics for outcomes assessment in collaboration with the APP Council and other clinical leadership venues.
- Serves as a member of appropriate administrative and clinical committees at the leadership level. Participates in Advanced Practice Council;
- Chairs the APP Committee.
- Improves and supports integration of APPs across various settings
- Coordinates with the talent acquisition team and supports the active recruitment of APPs. Serves as the lead in standardization of APP position classifications, job descriptions and peer review. Serves as the lead and resource for HR in validating market data and trends. Serves as resource for HR to evaluate qualifications for employment
- Develops and implements programs to support APP accountability and requirements regarding regulatory compliance and billing. Collaborates closely with MSO in standardizing and overseeing the OPPE/FPPE and credentialing process, providing insight as needed on all APP appointments and evaluations
- Oversees and is accountable for standardization of all APP hires; orientation, practice specific content, meeting of competencies and ongoing mentorship
- Develops professional advancement models specific to APPs. Promotes leadership training for APPs. Organizes and facilitates APP continued medical and nursing educational opportunities. Facilitates student APP experiences and relationships with academic institutions of higher learning
- Responsible for the coordination of activities and ensures continual compliance with regulatory standards (i.e., TJC, CMS, AHCA, etc.)
- Collaborates with the members of the various service lines and the Chief Medical Officer and Hospital Clinical and Operational leadership to review patient complaints and grievances related to Section or
- Department members and participates in resolution and service recovery, please refer to the Professional Behavior Policy (MEST-GEN008) and Patient Complaints and Grievances Policy (MELP007).
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nursing from an AANP or ANCC accredited school required.
Current licensure as an ARNP or PA
Current National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
7-10+ years of progressively responsible related clinical experience as an NP or PA.
3-5 years of Management experience.
Salary Range: $175,000 to $215,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
