Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support
  • Lead and engage system architecture and system design discussion.
  • Assist with system integration and technical management.
  • Assists in providing technical input to the systems engineering process.
  • Leads teams in developing technical plans.
  • Guide customers in the installation and use of strategic products through education and guidance.
  • Experience in tuning assistance problem solving and critical situation resolution.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in VMware vSphere administration, including: vMotion, HA, and DRS configuration
  • Managing and optimizing multi-clustered ESXi environments
  • Performance tuning and capacity management
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco UCS server hardware
  • Proficiency in virtual machine deployment and administration on Microsoft and Linux platforms
  • Demonstrated capability in VMware Aria Automation (vRA) and VMware Aria Orchestrator (vRO) for virtualization automation workflows
  • Experience supporting government or large-scale enterprise data center environments
  • Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation components beyond vSphere
  • Background in automation scripting (JavaScript) to support and extend vRA/vRO workflows

Education:

  • Master's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or related technical discipline and 10+ years' work experience
  • Ten (10) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education (20 years total)

Clearance:

  • The ability to pass a Tier 4/HIGH Background Investigation

Location:

  • Department of Veteran's Affairs (100% On-site)
  • Monday - Friday (9:00 AM - 5:30 PM CST Time)
  • Austin Information Technology Center (AITC)
