Market and Competitive Intelligence Senior Analyst

  • Provide foundational understanding of current market landscape through in-depth insights and competitive analysis.
  • Be subject matter expert for overall market performance, competitor performance and product actions, and consumer trends

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Market Analysis coordination, execution, and reporting of the Automotive industry in U.S., Canada, Mexico and Brazil
  • Data analysis expertise in data manipulation, observations, insights, recommendations and reporting with experience in:

    • Creating advanced powerpoint presentations which tell the industry story
    • Handling data sets: mTab, excel, SPSS, pivot tables, PowerBI, Tableau
    • Automotive data: AutoPacific, S&P, Bloomberg, JD Power (IQS, VDS, APEAL, PIN+), CR, KBB, Edmunds, other


  • Lead key internal reports - Sales, Auto Shows, Trends, OEM Summaries, Segment Overviews, Competitor Cycle Plans
  • Monitor current Economic and Automotive Industry indicators
  • Wide-ranging studies focused on features/technology/execution strategies across corporate & brand lineups
  • Investigate media and customer feedback to understand "soft" issues related to Vehicles, Powertrain, Technologies, and Features
  • Lead and coordinate Benchmarking activities and reports internal to HATCI:

    • Arrange for vehicle rental or acquisition and establish internal benchmarking schedule within Product Strategy and with functional teams
    • Work with functional teams to establish property needs and timing needs
    • Prepare technical reports and present findings to senior management. At a minimum, provide format for summary reporting to functional teams, collect summaries, compile summaries (back-end of report), create overview (front-end of report), and coordinate presenters to senior management


  • Manage longer and in-depth projects, alongside quick-hit ad hoc requests.

    • Embrace new projects (areas outside of expertise) comfort with some level of ambiguity
    • Willingness to switch focus to assist with team initiatives/deliverables, contribute to group work/reports



HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

  • mTAB, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Tableau, JD Power (IQS, APEAL, PIN+), Presentation Skills
  • Capable of combining data, experience, well-reasoned judgement and intuition in order to deliver insightful recommendations and a compelling story
  • Resilient, flexible, and able to adapt to rapidly changing business requirements
  • Passion for discovery and learning; a curiosity that drives you to look beyond the obvious
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze causal factors, and provide solutions

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate Engineering, Business, Data Science, Social Science or other applicable field of study
  • 5-10+ years of experience in Industry Analysis, Benchmarking, Innovation, Market Research, or Product Planning, ideally in the automotive industry

    • Some automotive experience, including but not limited to: Vehicle evaluation, component testing or teardown, competitive intelligence, program management, customer research, forecasting, strategic planning, quality, vendor management
    • Experience with data analysis. Particularly valuable would be experience with: IQS, NVCS, AutoKnowledge, AutoSource, AutoPacific, mTab and secondary research
    • Expert level of PowerPoint. Comfortable with Excel including pivot tables
    • Proven communication skills, report development, coordination of cross-functional teams, and presentation skills
