This position is responsible for administration and coordination of the World Manufacturing Identifier (WMI) program and the World Manufacturer Code (WMC) program. As directed by the WMI Lead and/or SAE WMI Program Manager, this role will support the administration and governance for the SAE WMI/WMC program. This role provides the opportunity to become the WMI/CRP Lead with proven abilities and acumen.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serving as the administrator and responding to requests, determining if manufacturer meets NHTSA requirements and instructing manufacturers how to proceed if requirements are not met.
    • Will require a good understanding of NHTSA rules and regulations related to enforcing WMI/WMC policies. Will immediately escalate to WMI Lead when questionable requests have been received.
  • As directed by the WMI Lead, will assist on WMI international inquiries from companies, government agencies and standards development organizations. Likely duties will be updating the WMI/WMC database with codes received from outside of the USA.
  • Work with SAE Information Systems group on existing UAT and functionality.
  • Assist with assigned SAE cooperative research meetings to provide backup for CRP Program Manager.
  • Assist CRP Program Manager for all related funding tasks which may include creation of invoices, updating invoices, creation of receipts, and assisting SAE Finance for all accounts payment systems from CRP member companies.
  • Assist WMI Lead on financial tracking for all program related funding (CRP / Certified Power / MACdb / etc.).
  • Assist in all WMI code clean up efforts as directed by WMI Lead and NHTSA program management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates Degree in business or related field and 2 years minimum professional experience
  • Good presentation and meeting facilitation skills
  • Ability to effectively utilize computer and web applications
  • Excellent computer skills including Web, Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload as directed
  • Ability to adjust focus with multiple projects and workload periods
  • Will learn to be an independent decision-maker for domestic and international inquires for WMI and WMC

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • No travel required
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a computer/desk.
