Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Manager of Finance Data and Governance to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will develop, deploy and manage data governance strategies to ensure financial data accuracy, consistency, and security across the organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with various departments and stakeholders, driving data integrity and supporting our commitment to high-quality financial reporting and analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

As the Manager of Finance Data and Governance, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing data governance policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and facilitating data quality initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish best practices for data management and support the continuous improvement of our data governance framework.



  • Develop, implement, and administer Data Governance policies and procedures to ensure consistent data practices across the organization.
  • Manage regular reviews of data to assess compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, and other departments to establish data management best practices.
  • Lead the development of Data stewardship including appropriate RACI's and authority matrixes.
  • Direct data quality initiatives, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation.
  • Problem-solving: Identify and address data-related issues and discrepancies, providing actionable recommendations for resolution and process changes.

Duties and Responsibilities (Cont.)

  • Manage the data governance documentation and update efforts, including data dictionaries and metadata repositories, to ensure a clear understanding and traceability of data definitions, relationships, and lineage.
  • Manage Data Analysts and Administrators to see that data is entered into operating systems following best practice standards.
  • Cultivate and manage the relationship between business units and data management teams to align data governance goals with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Data Privacy Regulations like GDPR and CCPA is maintained

Qualifications - Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
  • 2+ years leading a team of analysts and administrators
  • Strong understanding of financial data and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications - Preferred

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar certification.
  • Experience with financial systems and software (e.g., ERP, SAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of data privacy or protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Experience in a corporate or governmental finance environment.
  • Experience with data governance principlesrelated to systems migrations.
  • Experience with project management related to maintaining data quality and integrity.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
