The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit is seeking an IBD Specialist who is a board eligible/certified Gastroenterologist. The Henry Ford Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center is comprised of 5 IBD Specialists with dedicated APP and support staff. We offer innovative care for patients with Interventional IBD procedures, a combined Maternal Fetal Medicine / IBD Clinic, GI Dietician and Health Psychology support, and locations throughout Metro Detroit. Using the Specialty Center model for remote care, we have become a leading referral center throughout Michigan and Northern Ohio. The IBD Specialist position involves educating GI fellows from both our internal fellowship program, and many of the regional programs. Research is encouraged and HFH provides opportunities to collaborate with leaders across disciplines while also promoting collaborative opportunities with national research projects. Henry Ford Medical Group is one of the nation's largest group practices with 1,900 physicians and researchers in more than 40 specialties. The Division of Gastroenterology employs 47 physicians as well as 15 Advanced Practice Providers and provides outpatient clinic and endoscopy services at Henry Ford Hospital, Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital and 7 suburban satellites in Metro Detroit. The Division provides additional inpatient consultative services at Henry Ford Hospital, Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital and Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. The Division includes several subspecialty services including IBD, Hepatology, Liver and Intestinal Transplantation, Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, Functional Bowel Disease and Motility. Fellowship training for 15 category GI fellows as well as training in Advanced Therapeutics and Transplant Hepatology is provided. The Division enjoys an active research portfolio with studies in a wide variety of GI, Hepatology and Transplant disorders. Responsibilities will include evaluation and management of patients with a wide variety of GI disorders, teaching of fellows, residents and students in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, supervision of GI-focused advanced practice providers and opportunity to participate in clinical trials. Candidate will work in a multidisciplinary capacity with colorectal surgeons as well as maternal-fetal-medicine colleagues. Academic appointment through affiliation with Michigan State University and Wayne State School of Medicine is commensurate with training and experience.
