The University of Missouri - Kansas City UMKC's Division of External Relations & Constituent Engagement is seeking applications for the position of Director of External Relations and Government Affairs. This position manages relationships with community groups to enhance the university. The Director is accountable for key initiatives that advance university priorities and support the overall mission of the University of Missouri- Kansas City. This position will report to the Associate Vice Chancellor of External Relations and Constituent Engagement. Job Description
The Director of External Relations and Government Affairs is a key member of the External Relations Team. The Director is responsible for actively engaging university constituents and legislators, ensuring the value and quality of their experience, and advancing the reputation and stature of the University. Duties included, but are not limited to:
Shift
This position is a full-time, benefit eligible staff position. This position is expected to be on campus five days a week, Monday through Friday. Flexible work arrangements, such as telework, may be approved in advance for specific circumstances. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired, and the following traits:
Anticipated Hiring Range
Up to $87,000 per year commensurate on education, experience and internal equity. Application Deadline
