Fri, Sat, Sun 8:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.

Performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures for radiological diagnosis or treatment of patients of all ages. Performs multi-modality procedures using computer processing skills, injection skills as needed, and other related techniques to produce images for interpretation by a radiologist or other credentialed specialist.

• Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served.
• Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images. Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required.
• Performs duties associated with processing patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills.
• Evaluates, prepares, positions and observes patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety.
• Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.
• Maintains competencies and meets or exceeds standards for each skill performed.
• Maintains required certification for each skill. Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.

Education:High school graduate or GED and Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology, other associated Imaging technologies, or other approved training in Computerized Tomography required.

Experience:CT experience strongly preferred.

Licensure/Certification:AARRT registry, registry eligible.If not registered in CT, must become CT registered within 2 years of hire date.AHA BLS-HCP required; May be required to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit.

Other:Good interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments. Must be able to function independently. Must have good computer and communication skills.
