Summary:

We are seeking a proactive Legal Assistant to join our Legal team. This role will report to the Director, Legal Operations and will be responsible for supporting the Legal team with both corporate and national operations matters.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Perform a variety of administrative duties; create and produce reports and memos, maintain computer database, set-up and maintain legal files, and perform advanced administrative tasks.
  • Assist in the coordination, supervision, and completion of special projects.
  • Maintain corporate entity information and assist with filings as needed.
  • Perform duties and maintain files of a highly confidential nature.
  • Draft project documents and communications.
  • Assist with responding to legal discovery requests, including electronic discovery.
  • Assist in various national licensing requirements.
  • Draft legal and corporate responses to requests for proposals, qualifications and questionnaires.
  • Point person for national legal billing: including electronic billing system and legal spend / budget reports.
  • Manage contract and legal databases with accuracy and discretion; ensure timely document tracking and version control.
  • Collaboration with other departments, operations and outside counsel.
  • Conduct basic research as necessary.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and use sound judgment.
  • Confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, i.e. Word and PowerPoint.
  • Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience preferred but not required.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
