Administrative Assistant to VP of Mortgage Finance:

The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) was established in 1974 to better respond to the County's need for affordable housing. HOC is authorized to acquire, own, lease, and operate housing; to provide for the construction or renovation of housing; obtain financial assistance from any public or private source to assist its housing activities; and arrange for social services, resident services, and daycare.

Job Description:

The Administrative Assistant to the VP of Mortgage Finance is responsible for supporting the operations of the Mortgage Finance Division. The Incumbent will be responsible for supporting the activities of the Single Family, Federal, and Multifamily Program teams within Mortgage Finance.

The position reports to the Vice President, Mortgage Finance. It serves as a resource to Mortgage Finance personnel in the completion of tasks. The work will include managing office operations, including the preparation of the Division budget, ordering office supplies and the distribution of mail.

Example of Duties:

  • Complete special projects as assigned within the timeframes specified and ensure that all established goals associated with assigned tasks are achieved.
  • Work collaboratively with Division staff and other agency staff to complete tasks.
  • Consult and advise Mortgage Finance personnel
  • Partner with management to build a collaborative working environment while promoting leadership by exercising good judgment and professionalism.
  • Participate in the ongoing development of processes and procedures and assist in developing divisional goals and metrics.
  • Foster successful relationships through direct interaction with peers, professionals, and others.
  • Partner with management and employees to build a collaborative working environment while promoting leadership exercising good judgment and professionalism.
  • Perform related and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • At least five years of experience in Project Management or Operations Management.

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in either Finance, or in a related field
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Low income residents in Montgomery County with the above qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of budget processes.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ability to be responsible with confidential assignments, materials, and situations with discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work independently with broad guidance and to carry out continuing assignments requiring the organization of material and the preparation of reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and compile reports and analyze information.
  • Ability to prepare and present ideas in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to coordinate work programs of committees and working groups within the Mortgage Finance Division.

* Grade 19 - Min: $57,971 / Mid: $76,134 / Max: $94,298 | Salary determined by departmental budget - Offer commensurate with experience.
