We're looking for a process-driven Compensation and Benefits Manager who excels at execution and continuous improvement, and who's ready to take ownership of daily benefit operations, lead a small team, and ensure compliance and market competitiveness. Position Summary: This role is hands-on and operations-focused, ideal for someone who thrives on structure, detail, and efficiency. The Compensation and Benefits Manager will oversee day-to-day compensation and benefits processes, manage two direct reports, and continuously refine programs to improve accuracy, engagement, and reliability. You'll also be responsible for FLSA classifications, job evaluations, and participating in market surveys to ensure our offerings remain competitive and compliant. Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain compensation programs, including base pay, bonuses, and pay structures.
- Oversee the management of benefit programs including vendor management, reporting, communications, claims and utilization monitoring, design changes and open enrollment.
- Lead the team responsible for
- employee benefits programs, including health, dental, retirement, wellness, life and disability.
- HR operations (status changes, new hires, and spot bonus processing)
- Facilitate annual merit and structure budget preparations.
- Participate in and analyze market surveys to benchmark our programs and inform decisions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance the employee experience.
- Ensure integrity of data across HRIS, payroll, and benefits platforms.
- Manage third-party vendors and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- Monitor compliance with relevant state and federal regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct FLSA classifications and job evaluations to ensure regulatory compliance and internal equity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years of experience in compensation and benefits administration, with a strong operational focus. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Prior experience managing and mentoring HR professionals.
- Knowledge of the relevant legal framework for compensation and benefits (FLSA, ERISA, etc.).
- Strong proficiency with technology. Dayforce experience a plus.
- Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and maintaining high data accuracy.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of compensation and benefits compliance and reporting standards.
- Experience in a multi-state organization and CCP or related certification, a plus.
