Job Description

Position Summary
The Online Student Recruitment Specialist will play a critical role in the growth of UMSL Online by leading strategic recruitment efforts for online undergraduate and graduate programs. Reporting to the Director for Enrollment Services, Adult Students, this position will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and enrolling prospective online students through virtual outreach, digital engagement strategies, and data-driven recruitment initiatives. The specialist will work closely with admissions, enrollment-marketing, academic departments, and external partners to expand access to UMSL's high-quality programs.

Key Responsibilities

1.Student Recruitment & Engagement
a. Execute targeted recruitment plans to attract and enroll non-traditional learners, including working professionals, online learners, adult learners, and transfer students.
b. Conduct virtual information sessions, webinars, and one-on-one advising sessions with prospective students.
c. Proactively engage with a minimum of 50 prospective students daily through email, phone, text, and virtual platforms to guide them through the enrollment process and improve conversion rates.
d. Develop strong relationships with prospective students by providing timely, personalized, and solution-oriented communication.

2.Digital & Virtual Recruitment Strategies
a. Work with the Enrollment-Marketing team to support digital recruitment efforts by leveraging social media, email outreach, and digital advertising to engage prospective students.
b. Utilize CRM tools (Slate) to manage prospective student data, track engagement, and analyze conversion metrics.
c. Utilize automated workflows and nurture campaigns to enhance communication, improve response times, and support prospective students through the enrollment process.
d. Implement and monitor chatbot and live chat strategies to enhance online student engagement.

3.Partnerships & Outreach
a. Build and maintain relationships with employer partnership students, community organizations, and online learning platforms to generate new student pipelines.
b. Coordinate with academic departments to ensure recruitment efforts align with program offerings and student success initiatives.
c. Collaborate with UMSL's workforce and career advancement team to promote online programs to employer-sponsored learners.

4.Data Analysis & Reporting
a. Track and analyze recruitment performance metrics, including inquiry conversion rates, application trends, and enrollment yield for online, workforce, and adult programs.
b. Provide regular reports and insights to leadership to inform recruitment strategies and identify areas for improvement.
c. Monitor industry trends and best practices in online education recruitment to continuously refine strategies.

5.Student Support & Enrollment Assistance
a. Work closely with admissions operations, academic advisors, and financial aid staff to ensure seamless onboarding for online, workforce, and adult students.
b. Assist students in navigating the admissions, financial aid, and transfer credit evaluation processes.
c. Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, admission requirements, and student support services.

Shift

M-F 8am-5pm, one to two days a week 10am-6pm. Hybrid or remote work flexibility, with occasional travel for recruitment events. Evening and weekend availability may be required for events and prospective student engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

*Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, education, communications, or a related field.
*2+ years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, or digital marketing.
*Experience with CRM systems (Slate) to track and engage prospective students.
*Strong ability to communicate with adult learners, working professionals, and online students.
*Proficiency in using virtual engagement tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, etc.) for recruitment events.
*Knowledge of higher education admissions processes and online learning trends.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.05 - $23.37 hourly
