SAS Grid Engineer (REMOTE)

The Geico's Enterprise Advanced Analytics Platform team is seeking a highly motivated IT professional to fill the role of a Senior Engineer as SAS Grid Administrator. The candidate will collaborate with other engineers within the EAAP Team and DSI Platform Architecture to support GEICO's Cloud and Infrastructure Platforms. They will focus on the installation and upgrade of SAS and BI Applications, making recommendations for new and existing solutions. Candidate must have the ability to install, maintain, plan, analyze, prioritize, execute SAS Grid, Support On-Call and provide status to management. The candidate must be able to look beyond the immediate assignments and actively participate in Scrum and team planning meetings. The role demands extensive ability to work Linux OS and Systems administration, Shell Scripting, SAS Grid Maintenance, and SAS Viya experience is a plus. The Candidate must be technically strong to be able to communicate the plans, technical documentation, blockers, and application challenges and shall be able to provide alternatives to the team, business, and technical audiences.

Qualifications
Platform and Architecture Team is currently seeking SAS Grid Administrator to provide day-to-day operation of the SAS GRID platform. The candidate certification in SAS/SAS Grid. Should be highly experienced in Linux Server Administration, GPFS, and LSF. Additional System administration knowledge of other BI Applications like SAS Viya, R Studio, MSTR is a Plus. The Candidate must be aware of Monitoring, Support Application breakdown calls, backup, and recovery of the SAS Grid application. Further, experience with at least one of the authentication processes like Azure AD, SAML, and LDAP is required.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
* Responsible for Enterprise SAS Grid implementation, installation, upgrade, architecture design, and administration.
* Performing application monitoring and optimization of Enterprise SAS system with a good understanding of Splunk and Dynatrace.
* Experience and familiarity with GPFS and NFS file systems.
* Prioritizing Tickets and Incidents and address the file system changes based on requirements.
* Proficient in Linux system administration and operations.
* Able to operationalize the applications in Azure and IBM cloud with application deployments in SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.
* Ensure the High Availability and backups for the SAS Grid servers.
* Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of various SAS products while troubleshooting system related problems
* Ability to understand the SAS logs and perform debugging and troubleshooting issues with SAS EG, SAS Studio, and SAS Viya
* Perform SAS License management, applying SAS hotfixes, system upgrades, testing, user communications, and coordinate SAS Days/KT sessions.
* Maintain the SAS GRID environment, support Daily Job and Queue maintenance, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and SAS software roadmap.
* Preferred Certifications:
o Certified in SAS Grid/SAS Administration
o Certified in Red Hat Linux Administration or similar platforms.

Required Qualifications
* Must be BS/MS in Software/Computer Engineering.
* Have expertise in Enterprise SAS Version 9.X and maintain SAS Grid in Linux Environment.
* System implementation, installation, configuration, upgrade, architecture design, and administration.
* Highly experienced in managing SAS Grid and SAS Administration on Linux.
* Can understand bash and shell scripts to understand and update the code to perform troubleshooting.
* Experience in SAS Management Console (SMC), user and Role management, defining Servers, and creating SAS, and RDBMS libraries.
* Must understand Authentication, Azure AD, SAML, and SSO and be proficient in Network connectivity from SAS to backend data sources.
* Performed setting up Grid Manager, SAS Environment Manager, GPFS configurations, LSF management.
* Ability to connect SAS with data sources like Netezza, SQL Server, Snowflake.
* Have expertise in SQL and SAS Code, with managing SAS connectivity to DB2, Netezza, Hadoop, and MS SQL Server.
* Proficient in managing SAS Tools like SAS Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Management Studio.
* Experience and proficiency in Linux system administration, SAS Grid Management, LSF, and Cluster management.
* Be a proactive and self-starter with excellent communication and technical writing skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and able to meet deadlines.
