Responsibilities

    Controls all activities in the revenue cycle functions. Manages collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past due accounts, keeping track of cash receipts and referring accounts to collection agencies. Ensures accurate receivable records and verifies outstanding account balances. Creates financial reports relating to account receivable function and status of accounts. Audits methods and procedures of accounts receivable function to improve efficiency. Typically reports to a director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets

Essential Responsibilities/Job Duties

  • Reviews aging reports to resolve denial of claims and for high dollar accounts
  • Provides direction in the collection of all assigned accounts
  • Communicates any issues and problems related to aging reports and collections
  • Notifies management of problems and issues with the department as they arise
  • Improves processes within department emphasizing quality and efficiency
  • Provides leadership in developing and implementing solutions
  • Provides training of system applications and technical support of all Revenue Cycle systems in the areas of collections, claims processing and reports
  • Oversees the training of new staff
  • Oversees the electronic and manual billing processing of claims
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree of accounting, finance or Business Management or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three to five years supervisory experience required
  • At least five years of experience in the related area as an individual contributor preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have working knowledge of financial software programs. (AS400, HCS, Oracle, Zirmed, preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of revenue cycle
  • Must possess exceptional organizational and communication skills and be able to manage numerous areas of responsibilities
  • Must be able to function well as a member of a team and must demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills
