Position Summary

The Associate Director of Manufacturing Cost Accounting will lead the cost accounting close processes and build collaborative relationships with the CMC teams.

This position is remote with corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ. The Associate Director will report to the Vice President, Finance & Controller.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing cost accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness
  • Oversee accounting close for all inventory and cost activity
  • Prepare for and participate in external and SOX internal controls audits
  • Own cost forecasting, variance analysis, inventory valuation, standard costing, and manufacturing reporting
  • Make final decisions on cost accounting implementations and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional efforts with CMC and Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams to align operational and financial objectives

Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting standards
  • Thorough understanding of inventory and COGS accounting
  • Ability to work with external auditors and internal SOX teams
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leadership and external partners
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to navigate and resolve complex, undefined issues with sound financial judgment

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of direct technical operations finance experience in a biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical environment
  • Strong previous CMC experience working closely with manufacturing teams
  • Deep expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost forecasting
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems (ERP, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Excel
  • Experience with modeling of bill of materials and inventory forecasting

Salary Statement:

Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant's relevant skills, experience, and educational background. The salary ranges displayed below are only for those who, if selected for the role, will perform work in the specific locations listed. Please note the employment opportunity is not limited to these locations.

General Salary Range: $155,000 to $175,000
