We are seeking a O&M Network Specialist to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.
Responsibilities
Summary
- O&M Network Engineering will be responsible for the development and support of the customer solutions, technical strategies and objectives throughout the typical IT project lifecycle. The O&M Network Engineer is responsible to refining requirements, development and revising design documentation, producing installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support for the network. In addition, they will assist in delivering technical presentations to customer staff in both technical and non-technical roles. The position will contribute to the existing implementation by designing and develop configuration for an expanding enterprise. This includes preparing and performing surveys and assessment for selected customer existing network systems, participate in the infrastructure design and deployment activities with directly involved in the hands-on implementation of customer network systems and develop documentation throughout the entire lifecycle.
- The job is 100% on-site work. No remote or teleworking is anticipated.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- DoD Manual 8140 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification Certification for Intermediate level Network Operations Specialist DCWF Code 441
- Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Field AND 5+ years working experience in an enterprise network engineering role OR 9+ Years work experience in an enterprise network engineering role
- Must hold a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport for international travel.
Candidate duties, responsibilities and skill sets needed to be successful:
- Candidates must be detail oriented, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and to present complex and technical concepts to non-technical team members.
- An ability to learn new technologies quickly
- An ability to develop and follow processes and standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrated performance in network engineering technology,
- with expertise in network device, configuration, able to easily navigate the CLI, deploy applicable patches, and make configuration changes as needed
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Candidates are expected to perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot & identify issues at all layers of the network.
- Expertise with WAN/Transport and IP routing technologies and protocols, Candidates should have an in-depth knowledge of networking protocols such as BGP, MPLS, and SD-WAN in order to support ongoing maintenance and operation projects.
- Expertise in Cloud Orchestration and management of network devices
- Expertise in working with & troubleshooting cloud network technologies such as ExpressRoute and Azure Virtual Networks (with IL-2 or higher experience a plus) and an understanding of how these interact with traditional network technology through on-prem and network virtual appliances.
- Working knowledge of WAN technology and different communication circuits
- Experience in deployment of LAN (cable plant, connection medium, connector types) and their capabilities, limitations and work arounds.
- Understanding of DoD network security policies and methodologies and ability to implement them across the enterprise.
- Experience with working in a multi enclave environment.
- Understanding of network traffic management and experience in development and implement effective network optimization solutions.
- Juniper/HPE/JUNOS and/or Palo Alto experience is a plus
Qualifications
Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Top Secret with SCI eligibility required
Position / Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of experience. Experience in lieu of degree will also be accepted.
- Strong communication skills and experience using ticketing.
