The Department of Community Practice, Division of Hospital Medicine, within the School of Medicine at MU Capital Region Medical Center (MU CRMC) is pleased to announce an opening for a Hospitalist Physician Assistant Specialty Care to join their expanding team. This position works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to promote a team-based approach to patient care. The ideal candidate will provide expert clinical guidance, educate patients on treatment plans, monitor progress, and make necessary adjustments to optimize health outcomes.

Roles and responsibilities:

-Provide independent medical support services in collaboration with physicians and department staff.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and modify plans as needed.
- Serve as a key resource for patients, families, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals within the sub-specialty area.
- Address and resolve patient and family concerns regarding healthcare services.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including dictations and charting.
- Review and support patient paperwork requests, manage documents requiring signature, and oversee message resolution.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding procedures, treatments, prescriptions, referrals, therapy orders, and other medical concerns.
- Conduct patient physical examinations, obtain and document thorough histories, and relay essential medical information to physicians.
- Demonstrate high autonomy in diagnosing and treating health conditions while applying current research in a clinical setting.
- Identify patient-related trends and contribute to quality improvement, administrative, and educational initiatives within the department.

The Department of Community Practice at MU Capital Region Medical Center is a full-service health care system that encompasses a full-service acute care hospital, the area's most expansive clinic system, a state-of-the-art Cancer Program at the Goldschmidt Cancer Center, a hospital-based fitness facility, home health agency and the only hospital-based inpatient rehabilitation center in the community. Shift

Day Shift: 7:00am - 7:00pm, 7 days on, 7 days off rotating schedule with the ability to be flexible when needs arise; Nocturnist Shift: 7:00pm - 7:00am, 7 days on, 7 days off rotating schedule with the ability to be flexible when needs arise.

Minimum Qualifications

Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Hospitalist experience
Specialty certificate by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Nephrology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $90,251.20 - $140,000.00 annually
Grade: PAT - 012
University Title: PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT SC
