Vesta is currently seeking a
Full-Time Property Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance team to assist with the total maintenance of all areas of housing residences and offices located throughout the Maryland area. Travel between
Lanham, Odenton, Forestville, and Waldorf, Maryland would be required.
Hours are Monday through Friday, and some weekends as emergencies arise.
The position requires a valid driver's license, clear driving record, and background check. Use of personal vehicle would be required, and with reimbursement of mileage.
Essential Functions of the position:
- Knowledge of maintenance techniques and standards, and to include the use of rental equipment and specialty tools.
- 2 Years' experience in maintenance operations, including general building maintenance, carpentry skills, electrical diagnostics and repair, drywall repair and finishing, heating and a/c system diagnostics and repair, plumbing and other commercial/residential systems.
- Complete assigned work orders efficiently, informing supervisor when the scope of work is outside their ability.
- Entry of completed work orders into the system accompanied by all necessary supporting documentation.
- Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, city, state, regulatory and federal guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, training and experience): Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described; 2 years of building/property maintenance work experience.
Physical Capabilities: Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb on ladders, work with arms raised over head, stand/walk for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend at the waist and knees to lift boxes, appliances, furniture, snow shovel, etc.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $25.01/hour - $28.01/hour, paid bi-weekly, with opportunities for overtime. Salary calculated based on education and experience.
Other Compensation: Employees are eligible for bonuses (variable, depending on company and individual performance) and paid training.
PTO: New employees can accrue up to 96 hours of PTO in the first year (pro-rated based on start date and hours worked). Employees can accrue up to 40 hours of sick leave per calendar year (pro-rated based on start date and hours worked).
Holidays: Full-Time employees receive 8 paid holidays per year, with overtime if required to work. Part-Time employees are eligible for overtime if required to work on holidays.
Retirement: 403(b) plan participation available at hire. Employer matching after 1000 hours of service. Discretionary employer contributions are given at least once a year.
Health Benefits: Full and Part-Time Employees are eligible for benefits beginning the first day of the month after hire. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision (single and family), flex-spending accounts (FSA and Dependent Care).
