Job Title: Risk Analyst
Location(s): White plains, NY
Project Overview
- There are three primary objectives of this engagement:
- Responsible for risk scoring the projects in client portfolio in order to complete the review of the project portfolio in support of the strategic vision.
- Evaluate project risks across the top enterprise risks at client and Canals, comparing these scores to our established risk appetite using the defined methodology.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing the outcome of the risk scores for the portfolio of projects.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Project Data Review: a. Review each project and support data available from Subject Matter Experts to gain an understanding of the potential risks.
- Risk and Scoring: a. Evaluate and score risks for each project across the enterprise risk categories using the provided methodology and scoring tool. b. Document justification statements to support the decision of the scores.
- Comparison to Risk Appetite: a. Compare the calculated risk scores to the organization's risk appetite using the provided methodology and scoring tool. b. Identify projects that exceed, meet, or fall below the defined risk appetite thresholds.
- Reporting: a. Prepare detailed reports summarizing the risk scores for the projects and analyzing the risk levels across the project portfolio.
Skills
- Qualitative Risk Assessment Skills: Ability to conduct qualitative assessments to identify project risks as well as trends and insights across the project portfolio.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in collaborating with various stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.
- Industry Knowledge: Preferred understanding of industry best practices and familiarity with standards in risk management frameworks (e.g. COSO, ISO31000).
- Time Management: Ability to evaluate multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in risk assessment tools and software, as well as familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in risk management.
- Proven experience in performing risk identification and assessment.
- Experience in preparing detailed reports regarding risk assessments in preparation for key stakeholders.
