The regular work schedule for this position is Tuesday - Saturday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Must work occasional flexible, variable hours, including evenings, weekend, and holiday as operationally necessary. Recreation programs serve more students than any other co-curricular program at UC San Diego and based on annual surveys, are a key component of student satisfaction with their overall UCSD experience. Providing a broad scope of high quality,dynamic recreational experiences that benefit students, staff, faculty and the University community and supporting a culture of Wellness at UCSD, major programs include Intramural Sports; Sports Clubs; Recreation Instructional Classes and camps; Special Events and Outdoor Education. Recreation manages all indoor and outdoor sports facilities on the UC San Diego campus that include RIMAC, Main Gym, Canyonview Aquatic Center, Spanos and all multi-purpose playing fields.. Working in close conjunction with Intercollegiate Athletics, student and staff organizations, and the community. Recreation provides maintenance, scheduling, retail and support services for special events that improve the quality of life on campus. Recreation has an annual operating budget of $17.5 million from various fund sources and employs 74 full time staff and over 800 students. Full time staff are both non represented and represented employees who span seven different union agreements. POSITION DESCRIPTIONPerform journey-level skilled mechanical maintenance tasks in the swimming pool, spa and building facilities on a regular and continuing basis. Perform a variety of skilled tasks in the building and pool maintenance, alteration and repair of the UCSD Aquatics facilities, UCSD Recreation Facilities, and their related equipment. Maintains and performs designated repairs of aquatic facilities and other buildings, including but not limited to pumps, motors, controllers, chemical feeders & tanks, HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, high temperature, medium temperature and mechanical systems. Operates various computer applications for the above said systems. Occasionally alters systems to achieve optimum results. Maintains and repairs mechanical and plumbing systems and components. Upon approval, occasionally alters utility runs and modifies mechanical and plumbing components. Assists other staff. Provides work direction to student maintenance employees as needed. QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $99,326 - $99,326 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $47.57 - $47.57 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
