Join the V3 Team and take your career to the next level! We are looking for a passionate Civil Designer to join our Natural Resources Group in our Indianapolis, IN office. The ideal candidate will have at least two years' design and/or construction experience in one or more of the following areas: stream and/or wetland restoration, sustainable infrastructure, watershed management, and open channel flow hydraulics. Proficiency in all areas is not required, but the candidate will need to be able and willing to gain proficiency in each during employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing field work data collection to support natural resource designs.
  • Stream and Wetland planning and design.
  • Infrastructure design including stormwater, roads, earthwork and utilities for power and energy clients.
  • Water resources and Stormwater analysis, modeling & design.
  • Preparing reports, design plan sets, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Assisting project teams in obtaining civil and natural resource permits and approvals.
  • Assisting Project Managers in client communication and coordination.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, hydrologists, landscape architects, and civil engineers.

Additional Opportunities Include

  • Preparing floodplain/floodway calculations and design.
  • Monitoring projects to ensure needed regulatory compliance.
  • Assisting in park design and plan development.
  • Wetland and Stream Identification.
  • Ecological Treatment Design for Wastewater.
  • Supervision and construction administration for Natural Resource Designs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience with modeling/design tools such as HEC-RAS, TR-20, ICPR, HydroCad and XPSWMM are preferred but not required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D required and GIS preferred.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling/design tools preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
