Overview

We are seeking an Information Technology Support Technician, internally referred to as our Information System Technician (IS Tech). An Information Technology Support Technician (ITST) or Desktop Support Technician supports and maintains clinical and administrative IT systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs), hardware, and user accounts, ensuring smooth daily operations for medical staff. They also handle troubleshooting, training, and system security, playing a key role in maintaining compliance and continuity of patient care.

Shift's Available: Days (No Weekends or Holidays)

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 8hr - (Call Every 3rd Week)

Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center, Mesquite TX

** This role typically follows a Monday-through-Friday schedule; however, due to its critical nature, you will be on call for IT emergencies and urgent issues that require immediate resolution. **



Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Tech Support for Staff: help doctors, nurses, and admin staff with tech issues (computers, printers, logins, apps); troubleshoot problems with EHR systems like Epic
  • Help Desk & User Support: assist staff with software or hardware issues; set up new user accounts, reset passwords, and manage access
  • Hardware Maintenance: install and fix workstations, printers, tablets, barcode scanners; manage hardware in patient areas, nurses' stations, and mobile carts
  • Software & Network Assistance: install and update software used in healthcare settings, support Wi-Fi, VPN, and connectivity for hospital systems
  • Security & Compliance: follow HIPAA and cybersecurity rules to protect patient data, assist with password resets, access control, and device encryption


Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  1. High School Diploma required for all new hires starting 4/1/14.
  2. Experience in Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems and Active Directory.
  3. 1-3 years experience preferred.
  4. Customer service experience preferred.
  5. Preferred: Comptia A+, N+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
