Position Summary:

The Facility Quality Supervisor, under the Manager Facility Quality, is essential for ensuring compliance with quality systems and manufacturing processes in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). This role involves monitoring daily quality activities on the production floor and participating in quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance processes. By driving these efforts, the Supervisor significantly impacts product quality and operational efficiency, supporting the organization's commitment to excellence.

This position will support onsite, first shift 7am-3:30pm at our Holbrook, NY location.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides supervison and guidance to a team of 8 direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
  • onitors daily quality activities of the Quality Leads and floor inspectors on the production floor
  • Helps resolve quality issues on the production floor
  • Supports the Quality team members to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system
  • Monitors the compliance of processes and associated records to company standard operating procedure requirements and works with operations and R&D if necessary. Works collaboratively with inter-department and cross-functional teams to affect necessary changes in a timely and productive manner
  • Keeps accurate attendance records; file proper reports (accident, probation, etc.)
  • Supervises, counsels, and coaches associates on a regular basis
  • Assists in training the factory team in the areas of Quality and Food Safety
  • Trains QA Floor Inspectors on SOPs
  • Understand equipment, commissioning procedures, pre-operational preparation requirements, process controls and sanitation requirements
  • Identifies issues effecting efficiencies and assists in developing solutions
  • Responsible for plant GMP audits and Glass and Hard Plastic program, report findings to area owners and assist in problem solving for their assigned area
  • Supports on-time closure of assigned deviations and CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Action)
  • Responsible for and reporting Quality numbers in DDS meetings and prepares investigations to determine cause of quality deficiencies including customer concerns
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns
  • Assists with audits, ensuring compliance with regulations & contributes to the accuracy and integrity of reporting
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system

Requirements:

  • Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Advanced degree, preferred
  • Proven supervisory experience, demonstrating leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations for the GMP of Dietary Supplements and Foods
  • Experience with Food Safety plans/HACCP, GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) a plus
  • Knowledge in computer software programs (PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Office, statistics)

Skills:

  • Problem solving and statistical skills using quality tools (Pareto analysis, statistical process control, multi-variant DOE etc.)
  • Proven ability to work independently, effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks to deliver quality outcomes with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with known allergens especially fish and shellfish products

The approximate pay range for this position is $70,000- $85,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
