GENERAL SUMMARY

The Privacy Officer is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the organization's privacy policies and procedures. The Privacy Officer will ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations, as well as provide guidance and support in areas such as data collection and storage, data use and sharing, and team member training. The Privacy Officer will foster a culture of privacy and security within the organization and work closely with all departments to ensure the protection of personal data. The Privacy Officer will also proactively identify and manage potential privacy risks and respond to privacy inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

The Privacy Officer is responsible for ensuring that an organization's use, collection, and management of personal information complies with legal and ethical considerations. This job requires a thorough understanding of privacy regulations and may involve creating and implementing privacy policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and providing training and education to team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Develop and maintain the organization's privacy policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to implement effective privacy policies.
  • Monitor the company's data privacy practices and ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk assessments.
  • Direct privacy training and awareness programs to educate team members.
  • Work closely with the information technology and information security departments to ensure the security of data and privacy.
  • Manage all data protection and privacy queries from clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with international, federal and state privacy regulations and data protection laws.
  • Ensure the organization's use, collection and management of personal information complies with legal and ethical considerations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest privacy laws, regulations, technologies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with legal and operational teams on privacy and data security issues.
  • Respond to privacy breaches and work with the relevant departments to manage the situation.
  • Advise on privacy data breach response, investigation and notification.
  • Ensure the company's data transfer practices are in compliance with international, federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance Monitoring and Audit departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations and address potential issues proactively and timely.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure the organization has and maintains appropriate privacy consent, authorization forms, and information notices and materials reflecting current organization and legal practices and requirements.



QUALIFICATIONS



  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of Privacy management experience in a banking environment. Relevant banking experience and related compliance training required. CIPM or CIPP certification is preferred.
  • Skills/Ability: Expertise and understanding of international, federal and state privacy regulations for banks. Working knowledge and experience in privacy and data protection program development. Detail-oriented and self-motivated. Strong organizational and data analysis skills. Solutions oriented. Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with directors, senior managers, regulatory examiners and third-party consultants. Demonstrated ability to analyze privacy compliance risk using best practice methods and risk management principles. Ability to work independently in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work within tight time constraints. Proficient PC skills and with Microsoft office programs.

$90K - $105K / year
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
