PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Performs a variety of terminal and transportation activities for the Fuel Terminal facility. Responsible to perform duties in accordance with Company Policy, Safety Requirements and in compliance with Governmental Regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / FUNCTIONS:

* Performs terminal maintenance to include, but not limited to correction of mechanical problems at the load rack; correction of mechanical problems with petroleum tank valves, gauging devices and alarm systems; correction of mechanical problems within the terminal pipeline system and coordination of outside assistance in repair of facility equipment, when necessary.

* Functions as a member of the 24-hour on-call Terminal Oil Spill Response Team.

* Receives/transfers products by pipeline and ship/barge.

* Has a full understanding of the terminal's pipeline configuration.

* Coordinates product "flushes".

* Monitors flow rates into tanks.

* Performs manual gauging of tanks.

* Performs hourly gauging/leak checks.

* Has an understanding of tank HI & HI-HI alarm systems.

* Uses basic math to compute tank capacities.

* Ensures the safe and efficient receipt of product.

* Performs accurate facility testing to include, but not limited to assisting contractors with pipeline pressure testing; assisting contractors with load rack meter calibration; pulling samples for delivery truck tank testing; monthly RVP (Reid Vapor Pressure) testing, distillate flash testing, API gravity computation and determining the gasoline octane and ethanol concentration using a GS-1000 test machine and assuring additive compliance.

* Is available for 24-hour on-call trouble response.

* Identifies emergency matters and notifies the appropriate parties, as necessary,

* Performs truck washing and janitorial duties as assigned

* Performs other duties as assigned by the Terminal Manager.

* Performs general house keeping duties to include, but not limited to, janitorial duties, weed control, load rack cleanliness, pavement upkeep, etc.

* Performs routine security checks throughout the facility.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Able to comply with and maintain all credentials and requirements of regulatory authorities necessary to perform all duties and responsibilities of the position.

Skills/Knowledge:

* Performs basic arithmetic and other mathematical calculations

* Mechanical aptitude

* Hazardous material training

* Ensures the safe and efficient receipt and shipping of hazardous material with full authority to stop and prevent any unsafe acts.

Education/Training:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* College preferred

* Interacts with outside pipeline/marine companies. Demonstrates independent judgment and good organization of work assignments.

* Demonstrates professionalism at all times.

* Good ability to interact well with all levels or employees, customers, contractors and management

* Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and is not afraid of heights

* Frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, use of corrected vision, depth perception, wide field of vision, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, use of hand eye coordination, color vision.

COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:

* Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills, interacts positively with all levels of employees, customers, vendors and other third parties, and at all times demonstrates a professional and a courteous demeanor that represents the company's image with the highest standards of customer service and job performance.

* Able to make use of email, telephone, two way radio, fax machine, verbal conversation, and handwritten documentation to effectively receive and transmit information in the execution of required job functions.
