FoxNews.com is looking for an experienced Technical SEO specialist to join our growing digital team. This role sits at the intersection of technical optimization and data analysis, aimed at enhancing site visibility, crawlability, and search performance. You will partner with developers, product managers, and editorial staff to ensure Fox News Media business units are technically optimized to meet evolving search engine standards and algorithmic changes.

This position emphasizes technical SEO execution-including audits, structured data, and crawl efficiency-while also requiring fluency in SEO performance analysis to help guide strategy and measure results. While you'll bring strong analytical capabilities, this is not a pure data analyst role, and will focus primarily on SEO strategy and execution rather than broader business intelligence.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor site performance using tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush, Datadog, Tableau and internal dashboards; diagnose and resolve technical SEO issues including crawl errors, redirect chains, and indexing problems

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to optimize site architecture, page load speed, mobile usability, and structured data

  • Build and prioritize a clear SEO optimization roadmap; track technical performance, identify opportunities, and recommend initiatives based on potential impact

  • Manage and optimize core technical assets such as XML sitemaps, robots.txt files, canonical tags, and structured data (schema.org/JSON-LD) to improve crawlability and search appearance

  • Track and report key SEO KPIs, including rankings, click-through rates, impressions, and Core Web Vitals, using tools like Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics

  • Provide strategic SEO guidance during site launches, redesigns, migrations, and special projects to ensure technical integrity and search visibility

  • Partner with editorial teams to ensure that SEO best practices are applied during content creation and publishing workflows

  • Develop and support Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategies by optimizing structured data, implementing schema types such as FAQ, Q&A, and HowTo, and ensuring content is designed for featured snippets, entity recognition, and voice/AI-powered search platforms like Google SGE and Bing Copilot

  • Stay up to date on search engine algorithm changes and emerging trends in technical SEO, including generative search integrations

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • 3+ years of experience in technical SEO, ideally in a large-scale media or publishing environment

  • Deep knowledge of search engine algorithms, crawling/indexation processes, and web performance optimization

  • Proficiency with SEO tools: Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Ahrefs, Semrush, etc.

  • Familiarity with schema markup, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (basic understanding of code implementation)

  • Experience using analytics tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or Looker Studio to support SEO efforts

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly in a fast-paced editorial setting

  • Familiarity with CMS platforms and SEO in content-heavy environments
