Excellent retirement and health are just one of the rewards.Learn more about the benefits of working at UC Brief Summary of Job Duties: Reporting to the Marketing, Communications, and Engagement (MCE) Director, works independently to lead, implement, and collaborate on social media campaigns and projects that achieve organizational, enrollment, and program-specific objectives. This position manages a large portfolio of social media channels and projects and helps decentralized account coordinators at study centers and within the University of California Education Abroad Programs (UCEAP) systemwide offices to achieve organizational, student-centered goals. Through relationship building and channel-specific expertise, the social media manager collaborates in creating strong social media content that builds and strengthens UCEAP's voice, brand, and communication. Based on working knowledge of UCEAP programs and expertise in UCEAP's marketing programs and objectives, analyzes data, makes recommendations, designs, implements and maintains a comprehensive, multi-dimensional social media program. Maintains currency with emerging content, channels, and social media strategy and leverages expertise for continuous improvement. Works closely with the Multi-Media Designer(s) and the digital marketing specialist and collaborates with the MCE team and program staff. Required Qualifications:

Establish, communicate, and monitor social media brand standards for decentralized accounts and coordinate large-scale campaigns with social media coordinators at Study Centers around the world. Regularly communicate these standards and expectations and leverage collaborative opportunities with University of California (UC) campus global learning and education abroad offices. Mentors and may supervise UCEAP staff, Study Center employees, and student assistants in their social media work. Establish social media brand guidelines, and maintain these standards as living documents. Foster positive relationships and online presence and within the UC community. Facilitate and host social media workshops for UCEAP staff, campus staff, and Study Center staff. 40% Build and Manage Social Media initiatives - Build, manage, implement and maintain all UCEAP social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) and potential new channels. Implement and maintain social media campaigns, annual events, and event promotions, while tracking and reporting results. Manage annual ad spend for paid advertising campaigns and make recommendations for future campaigns and promotions. Stay current with industry trends, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach and engagement initiatives, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Collect, analyze, and interpret data on the performance of promotional campaigns. Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to improve future promotional strategies. 25% Lead, Develop and Deploy Social Media Platforms and Content - Coordinate projects and implement promotional strategies and advertising campaigns that highlight UCEAP programs and events. Develop strategy, collect, and share user-generated content, working directly with students and staff on social media takeovers. Leverage full understanding of industry and channel-specific strategies to recommend effective and engaging campaigns based on project goals and needs. Develop social media content that supports the overall social media strategy for UCEAP's content calendar and emergent needs across all institutional channels. Decide which platforms UCEAP will prioritize and leverage, and communicate those decisions with MCE and the larger organization. Communicate the brand voice in a coherent and effective manner across all social media platforms. Develop, recommend and implement, as applicable, creative ideas and strategies to reach new followers and drive interest in UCEAP programs. Foster growth and engagement with social media followers and other channels through replies, shares, and other engagement activities. Contribute social media marketing and awareness strategies to marketing and communications campaigns. 5% Special Projects - Other duties and special projects as assigned.
