Description

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University's Office of Human Resources is seeking an HRIS (Human Resources Information System) Analyst to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by deploying and optimizing HR technology platforms to create an unparalleled experience for all staff and faculty.

The HRIS Analyst plays a crucial role in optimizing HRIS functionality through continuous process improvement, automation, and other system enhancements to deliver an excellent and efficient end-user experience. They oversee the day-to-day functionality, overall configuration, maintenance, and management of HR and payroll technologies. The HRIS Analyst contributes to the development of HR-specific data analytics capabilities, leveraging HR data to generate actionable insights, enhance reporting, and support the University's broader data strategy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.


Configuration & Support



  • Manage and maintain the configuration of the Human Capital Management (HCM) platform, including modules related to core HR, talent management, performance management, absence, and payroll.
  • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to develop and implement effective workflows, configurations, and best practices.
  • Define system requirements and work with external vendors on HRIS software and systems.
  • Proactively monitor and manage system updates, outages, maintenance, ongoing improvements, and configurations, and communicate with impacted business areas.
  • Provide technical support to ensure adequate functioning of HR systems and interfaces while serving as the initial contact for troubleshooting system errors with internal and external partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with vendors on recurring and project HR systems work.
  • Ensure data is accurately processed and maintained according to university rules and applicable regulations.
  • Outline and build appropriate solutions, deliver and communicate results by testing, creating technical documentation, and hosting functional demos for various stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in HRIS.


System Optimization



  • Continuously evaluate and optimize the HCM platform to ensure it supports HR strategies and meets the evolving needs of the University. Identify and implement improvements to enhance system performance and functionality.
  • Develop and implement processes and workflows that streamline HR operations, reduce manual tasks, and improve overall efficiency. Leverage the HCM platform's capabilities to automate routine tasks and reporting.
  • Develop and configure responsive workflows and future state strategies to efficiently and accurately drive HR business processes through technology.


Reporting & Analytics



  • Apply sophisticated quantitative and qualitative analyses to produce actionable insights.
  • Design and generate reports and analytics to support HR decision-making and business insights; create metrics and dashboards based on user requirements that measure key workforce trends and performance.


Project Management & Collaboration



  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective HRIS solutions.
  • Lead HRIS projects from concept to completion, including gathering requirements and executing deliverables on time, to fully optimize and design technology solutions to drive efficiency across HR and elevate the end-user experience.
  • Work alongside other functional teams to deliver effective configurations, offer best practices, and provide continuous support throughout the project lifecycle.


Change Management & Adoption



  • Serve as a change agent by championing innovative practices within the University and HR department, driving efficiency, and enhancing the overall experience for staff and faculty.
  • Offer technical support and comprehensive training to HR staff on HRIS functionalities. Develop and maintain user guides, documentation, and training materials to ensure effective system use.
  • Provide clear guidance, create and distribute templates, and deliver relevant communications regarding workflows to team members across various functions, business areas, and organizational levels.


Compliance



  • Perform regular audits of HRIS data to ensure accuracy and adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and university policies concerning data handling and reporting.

Required Qualifications:



  • Five years of related experience with HR technology.
  • Knowledge of HR, Payroll, Talent, and other related functions.
  • Technical experience (integrations, conversion, development) with modules including Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Onboarding, Recruiting, Learning Management Systems, HR Service Delivery (case and knowledge), Compensation, Payroll, Workforce Management, Performance, and the underlying technology stack.
  • Experience working in the full lifecycle of an HCM project or workstream, including Business Analysis, Functional Specification, System Configuration, Design, and Testing.
  • Experience conducting technical requirements-gathering workshops or facilitating meetings.
  • Experience in developing HR analytics and dashboards.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the client organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Bachelor's degree.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with HRIS Implementations.
  • Experience in Data Science, Statistics, and Machine Learning
  • Experience with Workday, UKG Pro Workforce Management, and IBM Cognos.
  • Proficiency and curiosity in AI-powered technologies, including AI chatbots, VR, conversational AI platforms, prompt engineering, and AI-driven video and graphic generation.
  • Higher education experience.
  • Experience with data warehouse solutions.
  • Project Management certification.
  • Change Management experience.
