Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance and financial close process.
  • Prepare or review client's internal financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or other relevant accounting standards
  • Assist clients with developing and/or managing the organization's budget and providing financial and forecast (as needed)
  • Coordinate reporting requirements with external auditors and tax accountants (as needed)
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed, and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed
  • Maintain client relationships and assist with engagement billings
  • Manage various outsourced accounting services engagements and facilitate training of outsourced accounting team members (as needed)

Preferred Qualifications

  • A hybrid of public accounting and private company experience
  • Hands-on experience with various accounting processes, such as accounts payable, billing, payroll and financial close
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP. Experience with SEC and SOX clients, a plus
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects and good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, SAP, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, is a plus
  • Experience with Company in the technology & life science industry and emerging businesses is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • Proficient use of applicable technology

The annual salary target for this job in this market is $120,000 - $150,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
