Summary: In this role, you will lead the strategic development and execution of communications that enhance and protect the company's reputation, elevate its presence in the market, and cultivate a cohesive, value-driven internal culture. Responsibilities:
Lead a multi-channel content strategy to elevate thought leadership through executive blogs, webinars, and industry event engagement. Build strategic partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry experts to enhance brand credibility and market authority. Develop and oversee a reputation management framework, including real-time sentiment tracking to proactively mitigate public relations risks. Drive media amplification through targeted storytelling that aligns with company values and strengthens external brand perception. Launch internal leadership town halls, Q&A forums, and narrative-driven updates to drive stronger alignment on company objectives. Implement social media amplification strategies, ensuring executive profiles authentically reflect industry expertise. Develops and executes an annual stakeholder engagement plan to strengthen long-term relationships with industry analysts. Leads exclusive briefings and monitors Vizient's visibility and influence within the analyst community to shape perception and strategic positioning. Work closely with Legal & Risk, ensure a preemptive crisis response playbook is in place, to handle reputational risks. Develop and govern a unified messaging framework in collaboration with Corporate and Business Unit Marketing, ensuring consistency and alignment across all internal and external communications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred; Master's degree or MBA desired. 15 or more years of progressive communications experience required, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership or executive role. Proven track record of leading strategic communications, media relations, reputation management, and thought leadership programs at a large, complex organization required, preferably in healthcare, life sciences, or a regulated industry. Demonstrated success in developing and executing integrated communications strategies that align with organizational goals and elevate brand reputation. Deep knowledge of corporate communications, internal communications, media relations, executive visibility, crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement. Skilled at shaping external narratives and delivering consistent, value-aligned messaging across multiple channels and audiences. Strong leadership skills with experience managing high-performing communications teams, agencies, and partners. Effective collaborator with a track record of working across business units, marketing, legal, HR, and investor relations to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment. Proficient in using media monitoring, analytics, and sentiment tracking tools to guide communications strategy and measure impact. Deep understanding of digital communications, social media strategy, and content amplification techniques. Strong expertise in developing high-impact partnerships with analysts, media, and industry experts. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with executive-level presence. High emotional intelligence, political savvy, and discretion in handling sensitive or high-profile matters. Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, matrixed environments with competing priorities. Willingness to travel.
