GENERAL FUNCTION

The Income Tax Senior Analyst's responsibilities are federal and state tax concepts for a US based multi-national. Responsibilities include federal and state tax compliance (with supporting calculations/data analysis), federal and state tax provision (with supporting calculations/data analysis), support for federal audits, and management of state audits.Finally, this position would be responsible for tax research, maintenance and tracking of income tax notices and special tax projects supporting Group Tax as assigned.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Corporate income taxes


  • Review basic federal and state tax returns
  • Prepares complex federal and state income tax corporate returns including combined / consolidated filings and partnership returns
  • Ability to analyze financial data and reconcile information from database to financial statements
  • Pull data from various systems to summarize tax position and federal and state workpapers for tax returns
  • Provides analytical support for the preparation of the Company's income tax provision, effective tax rate computations and state uncertain tax provision calculations.


  • Prepares quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions.
  • Research federal and state tax issues.
  • Ability to identify and resolve tax issues.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in federal and state income tax compliance and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans.
  • Analyze New Federal and State Tax Laws and provide analytical support for Tax Positions and Returns.
  • Audits
  • Experience in managing State Audits independently for separate states and with assistance for combined states.
  • Assist in support of IRS examination Gather, coordinate and analyze information for defense of state income tax audits.
  • Prepare correspondence for federal and state tax authorities in response to notices and questionnaires.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers such as financial and government auditors.
  • Tax M&A and Integration/planning analysis
  • Assist in research required for proposed transactions for the U.S. group.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing data related to tax savings opportunities for the company.
  • Assist with integration and opening balance sheet adjustments for new acquired entities.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of four years' experience in public accounting or private industry working primarily in corporate tax (consolidated and multi-state returns) and flow-thru entities a plus
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and proactively seek solutions or suggest improvements
  • Ability to analyze data to use technology to gain efficiencies
  • Self-Motivated, business savvy, integrity and team player
  • Strong research and analytical skills a must


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Additional Software Skills Preferred: MS Suite, SAP, Oracle, OBIEE, Adobe, Hyperion
  • Tax Software Skills Preferred: CorpTax and Onesource Tax provision (or similar)
  • CPA or CPA eligible preferred

Pay Range: 73,010.00-107,265.60

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.
