Your Title: Product Subject Matter Expert - Construction Payroll & AI

Job Location: Lake Oswego, OR, or Westminster, CO (Open to Relocation)

Our Department: Trimble Viewpoint

What You Will Do

Do you understand the "why" behind job costing, labor burden, and tax compliance better than anyone else in the room? Trimble Construction One is looking for a Construction Payroll Expert to help us build the next generation of AI-powered ERP solutions.

We need you to be the voice of the customer. You will use your deep knowledge of the construction back-office to guide our engineering teams, ensuring we build tools that actually work for contractors. You'll transition from using payroll software to designing it, leveraging AI to automate the workflows you know inside and out.

  • Be the North Star: Use your "on-the-ground" experience to define what a perfect construction payroll solution looks like, from simple SMB setups to complex, multi-state union requirements.

  • Bridge the Gap: Translate the "language of payroll" (certified reports, fringe benefits, prevailing wages) into clear requirements that our developers can build.

  • Innovate with AI: Work alongside experienced Product Managers to identify where AI can eliminate manual data entry, spot compliance errors, and provide real-time labor insights.

  • Advocate for the User: Spend time with customers and prospects to understand their pain points and ensure our roadmap solves real-world problems.

  • Learn the Craft: Join a high-performing product team in the discipline of Product Management, Agile development, and SaaS strategy.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

We are looking for a specialist who understands that construction payroll is more than just cutting checks-it's the heartbeat of job costing and compliance.

  • The Domain Knowledge: Deep, firsthand experience in construction payroll. You should be intimately familiar with

  • The Basics: Set up, tax reporting, and multi-state compliance.

  • The Complexities: Job costing, labor burden, fringe benefits, and union/certified payroll requirements.

  • The "Why" Factor: You don't just follow a checklist; you understand the accounting principles and regulatory logic behind why payroll must be handled a certain way.

  • Tech Curiosity: You are excited by the potential of AI and are eager to learn how to use it to revolutionize the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).

  • Communication Skills: The ability to explain complex payroll concepts to a variety of stakeholders with clarity and patience.

  • Education: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation is a major plus.

  • The Right Mindset: You are a problem-solver who is tired of seeing manual workarounds in construction software and wants to build something better.
