Job Summary

Provides operational and project support for the Chief Human Resources Officer.


Essential Duties

Provide high-level project and operational support to the CHRO and ACHRO. Perform duties as required to ensure the smooth operation and responsiveness of the department.

Monitor, organize and improve project-tracking systems for the Human Resources department and organize and maintain relevant program files. This includes researching potential initiatives and events, creating project proposals, etc. Plan, prioritize and coordinate projects to meet deadlines.

Independently compose correspondence and other documents utilizing independent research and extensive knowledge of CHRO's jurisdiction, policies and views.

Develop and deliver training related to appropriate projects and initiatives within the Human Resources department.

Document departmental processes.

Provide administrative support to the CHRO and ACHRO, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and organizing travel arrangements.

Prepare and process correspondence, reports, and presentations, and assist with organizing meetings, taking minutes, and following up on action items.

Assist in organizing HR events, such as workshops, training sessions, or departmental meetings.

Support HR audits and compliance reviews by assisting with data collection and documentation.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources of a related discipline. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.

Significant computer experience utilizing integrated software packages including spreadsheet, graphics, and database management capabilities.

Ability to perform responsibilities under one's own initiative and with general supervision.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex ideas in meaningful ways.

Ability to work successfully as a member of an administrative team and to assume additional responsibilities as requested.

Ability to resolve problems and issues. Ability to make decisions with routine items.

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in fast-paced environment with shifting demands.

Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Ability to develop and deliver training related to appropriate projects and initiatives within the department.

Sensitivity when handling confidential information in a professional and discreet manner.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education.

3 years experience in a Human Resources functional area.

PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
