Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs About the role We are looking for anElectrical and Instrumentation Supervisorto lead a team of Electrical Maintenance Tradespersons in maintenance activities of the electrical distribution system following world class asset management processes and safe work practices.We are a large facility which produces multiple finished products. The electrical distribution system includes a Cogen Facility, 115kv, 34.5kv and 4160v overhead along with underground ties to 5 substations with associated switchgear. - Adherence to safety procedures to ensure the safety of employees complying with Rio Tinto and Statutory Safety requirements
- Managing, supervising and allocating work to a team of trade employees in maintenance as well as shop related activities.
- Applying Rio Tinto asset management practices, adhering to the approved maintenance work management program and ensuring compliance with planned and scheduled work orders.
- Allocating maintenance coverage for breakdowns.
- Interfacing with planners and fellow Supervisors to assist in planning and scheduling of work.
- Providing leadership in team building, coaching, planning, and establishing clear measures that keep everyone focused on safety, results, and the customer.
- Ensuring work is completed in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and soliciting input from team members
What you'll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance/operations of an industrial setting
- Leadership experience
- Experience in maintaining medium and high voltage systems (4160 Kv and higher)
- Experience in safe electrical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance strategies
- Driver's license
- Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED, Electrical Trade certificate preferred
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Prior experience in mining operations
- Knowledge of MS Office, Excel& SAP
