Position Summary

Organization: The Mind Research Network

Location: 1101 Yale Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106

An Off-Campus Work-Study position

A student research assistant position is currently available in Dr. Andrew Mayer's laboratory at the Mind Research Network, located on the North UNM Medical campus. Dr. Mayer's research team focuses on using MRI to assess recovery after traumatic brain injury in Veterans, civilian adults, athletes, and children.
Under direct supervision, the student research assistant will support the primary research functions of the laboratory including data entry, literature searches, laboratory processing of participant samples (blood, saliva), and other duties as needed. The successful candidate will be able to follow both written and verbal instructions, communicate effectively orally and in writing, maintain confidentiality of records and information, and be computer literate with proficiencies in both Word and Excel.


Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.



Preferred Qualifications

Required:
* 18 years of age or older
* High School Diploma
* Drug Screening
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals.

Preferred:
* Data entry experience
* Prior experience in a lab setting
Required upon hire:
* Privacy/HIPAA training
* CITI Human Research Protections training
* Specimen processing training
