Job Summary The Instructional Services Coordinator Sr. is responsible for maintaining and enhancing curriculum in the area of special education. This role involves providing instructional updates, implementing corrections, and developing new course content to support program quality and alignment. The coordinator collaborates with students, staff, adjunct faculty, and program supervisors through training, mentoring, and evaluation efforts. Drawing on prior experience as a certified classroom teacher, the coordinator supports program accreditation, advises on certification requirements, and provides guidance on programs of study, course content, and departmental procedures. Essential Functions 30% - Assists with and oversees the maintenance of course content, files, records, program materials and documentation 20% - Provides training and guidance in special education 20% - Monitors program guidelines and reviews compliance with applicable policies, regulations and laws; addresses issues as needed 10% - Consults with faculty, staff, business/community representatives, partner organizations and other stakeholders on program design, development, policies, and procedures 10% - Serves as a committee representative and program advisory liaison within the external community, including but not limited to the Collaboration for Effective Educator Development, Accountability, and Reform (CEEDAR) 10% - Analyzes program data to determine effectiveness, quality and outcomes; recommends modifications or additions for program improvement and success; performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, organizational development or directly related field and two years of related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment. A Master's Degree may be required for some assignments. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Special Requirement: Current K-12 Special Education Arizona Professional Teaching Certificate Desired Qualifications A. Demonstrated experience in teaching and developing online curriculum B. Proven ability to mentor students and instructors/faculty in an online learning environment C. Five (5) or more years of K-12 special education teaching experience D. Master's degree in Education, or a Master's degree in another field with at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in special education E. Experience mentoring student teachers and/or novice educators F. Proficiency with technology tools, including Google Workspace, video conferencing platforms, and Web 2.0 Tools G. Strong written communication skills Special Working Conditions Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements . Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen. May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
