Summary: Oversee barcode personnel and production, work to maximize operator and machine utilization. Respond to down machinery via protocol, oversee repair material and supplies needed for optimal run times. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position reports directly to and will receive direction from the Superintendent - Secondary Operations. The primary responsibility of the Barcode Supervisor is to safely and efficiently perform top-quality operational duties on a daily basis which include (but are not limited to) the following:
Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees daily operations in the barcode department for assigned shift. Provides constructive feedback to employees and issues discipline as necessary. Qualifications: Ability to lead a large number of employees in daily production processes. Ability to manage inventory in and out of department. Time management skills with ability to meet deadlines. Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Education and/or Experience:
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend sufficient English to follow work instructions. Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills and counting ability required. Reasoning Ability: Ability to remember a wide range of part numbers and what parts they relate to. Ability to sort out several problems at one time. Must be able to relate to all personnel he/she comes in contact with. Ability to get along and be able to interface with other Westlake Pipe & Fittings associates. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to lift 25 pounds 3 feet high. Must be able to operate a pallet jack and remove full pallets from the barcode area to the finished goods warehouse. Good hand and eye coordination for working on parts labeling. Ability to walk and/or stand for an eight-hour period at a time. Equipment used - pallet jacks, knives, tape guns, barcode applicator machine, label printers, barcode scanners and verifiers.
