Job Summary: The Strategic Sourcing Team Manager is responsible for the strategy, organization and management of the WellSense Strategic Sourcing Team. In this role, you will guide the team to develop category strategies for complex, indirect spend categories in area(s) of responsibility and serve as the primary contact for business customers. You will also drive effective, fact-based group decisions that have significant operational, transformational or financial impact. Building and managing relationships with internal customers, contributing to savings opportunities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating company risk will also be foundational to your work. Our Investment in You: * Full-time remote work * Competitive salaries * Excellent benefits Key Functions/Responsibilities: * Directs and organizes strategic sourcing opportunities that effectively leverage our size and scale to deliver a competitive economic advantage while maintaining or improving quality and service levels. * Responsible for contributing to spend oversight. This involves a) Developing and implementing multi-year growth plans for their categories or "business units" b) Commercial awareness and continuously managing trends and gaps in the market that impact their category; and c) Managing sourcing workflow to ensure products/services to company is unhindered. * Ensures clear performance expectations along with appropriate skills sets. Fosters an effective work environment and ensures employees receive recognition, feedback and development. Participates in organizational talent management. * Partners with senior leadership in developing, implementing, and communicating short and long-range plans, goals, and objectives. * Aligns team goals with the organization's vision and strategy. Identify Sourcing/Procurement issues, opportunities, and effective solutions and collaborate with other departments to improve processes and deliver results. * Handles management-level responsibilities for staff, including performance reviews, employee development, hiring, firing, coaching, counseling, and retention. Develops leaders and participates in talent management activities. * Apply in-depth knowledge to solve broad issues that are complex in scope, and establish medium to long- range plans. * Helps to determine appropriate staffing levels and resource needs, creates and manages department and/or projects, allocates resources. * Ensures compliance with WellSense policies and procedures and ensures adherence to all federal, HIPAA, and applicable state regulations. * Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process including the evaluation of existing contracts for savings opportunities and innovation of our procedures. * Lead favorable results through providing leadership to the function. * Lead business owners through the supplier selection, procurement, and contracting process to ensure that contracts produce value in alignment with WellSense's objectives. Supervision Exercised: * Capable of managing 4-10 FTEs on project teams Supervision Received: * General direction received weekly Qualifications: Education: * Bachelor's degree required. Preferred/Desirable: * Master's degree in a related field preferred. Experience: * The Sourcing Team Manager would have a Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field and 5 + years sourcing and contracting experience or related field. MBA or similar degree preferred. * 3+ years of prior supervisory/team management experience * Healthcare related experience preferred * Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in a healthcare environment (FDRs, CMS, NCQA, URAC, etc.) preferred Certification or Conditions of Employment:
Competencies, Skills, and Attributes: * Advanced leadership and change management skills * Advanced, demonstrated ability to lead highly complex, multi-departmental sourcing events * Advanced skillset in driving decisions and influencing stakeholders in multi-functional corporate areas * Demonstrated mature approach to problem solving and conflict resolution * In depth knowledge of sourcing and contract fundamentals. * Provides leadership to department staff. Conducts staff recruitment, training and performance evaluations according to Plan policies. * Prior experience in all elements of sourcing and category management for indirect services, including professional services and business process outsourcing. * Effective communication and collaboration skills with a wide variety of stakeholders, including leadership and large groups. * Demonstrated competency in facilitating, leading and influencing decision-making. * Ability to accomplish results through others by establishing relationships, effective controls and monitoring processes. * Ability to develop and analyze business cases, spend analytics, and financial models. * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: * Limited travel may be required.
