Provides maintenance support for the site properties and structures. Facilitates maintenance support to provide a safe, clean environment for staff, families, youth and visitors.

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 7a-4p

LOCATION: Oveida, Florida

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Repairs or contracts structural woodwork and equipment repairs.
  • Performs corrective and preventative maintenance, while ensuring equipment is in good working condition.
  • Facilitates carpentry projects, estimates costs, RFP support and requisitions supplies.
  • Maintains company fleet vehicles and tracks maintenance.
  • Facilitates grounds and landscaping (mowing, trimming, snow removal, etc.).
  • Uses Boys Town vehicle for transporting supplies and equipment.
  • Facilitates and completes assigned work orders in a timely manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Broad knowledge of construction practices, tools, and safety and building codes.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Computer knowledge and capabilities (Microsoft Office products, CMMS, Workday).
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to recognize good craftmanship and quality of products & services.
  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong vendor relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of risk management.
  • Knowledge of Emergency Action Plans.
  • Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
  • Ability to supervise, encourage and coach staff.
  • Ability to be professional with inspectors, architects, engineers, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience required.
  • Experience in a multitude of disciplines to include HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, etc. required.
  • Experience in construction methods required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
  • Pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
  • On-call (continuously or rotationally) to provide support and must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed required.
  • Ability to travel to several different sites nationwide required.
  • Pesticide and fertilizer applicator licenses may be required at some locations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • OSHA 10 Hour training preferred.
  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Moderate to heavy physical activity having to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance and walking, standing, or kneeling for extended periods of time and requires agility to work in difficult locations such as crawl spaces, attics, roofs and closets.May work at heights of 10 feet or more. Significant time will be spent at outdoor construction sites where temperatures may vary from excessive heat to extreme cold or in a shop environment, which includes dust, noise, and some discomfort due to temperature, work with a variety of tools, power tools, and chemicals.
