Summary The MIL Corporationis seeking anEvent Designer (Security Engineering, Senior Analyst)to support the Department of Defense (DoD) National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC). This facility supports the mission to provide realistic cybersecurity environments for test and evaluation of major DoD acquisition programs and to enable the conduct of realistic training and certification events for the DoD Cyber Mission Force. The NCRC facility may also support non-DoD customers such as Department of Homeland Security (DHS), industry, academia, and international partners.The successful candidate will serve at the Patuxent Naval Air Station, MD site. This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements. Responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities include: supporting the Event Design Team in event design, execution, coordination, scheduling, resourcing, de-confliction, test development, design, and stake holder engagement under the direction and guidance of the events' designer.
- Support all aspects of event teams to perform all tasks essential to support the NCRC test operations.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies; assesses, designs, and conceptualizes test scenarios, approaches, objectives, plans, tools and other state-of-the-art technologies related to test and evaluation requirements.
- Advise and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.
- Maintain and upgrade automated test scripts and architectures for application products.
- Analyze test cases to support regular progress reports recommending enterprise and site improvements.
- Serve as a subject matter specialist providing weapons system vulnerability testing know-how for the support of user requirements of varying from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 through TRL 9.
- Ensure planned testing activities are executed, develop network security guidelines, and configure network equipment.
- Install, update, and configure Linux based operating systems and software virtual environments.
- Ensure systems remain compliant with baseline requirements.
- Create, update, and maintain technical documentation.
- This position supports the program and all other duties as assigned.
Travel 10% - 20% to other sites, as needed Required Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience
- DoD 8570.01M/ IAM-II certification within 6 months of assignment to position (CAP, GSLC, CISM, CISSP (or Associate))
- Demonstrated experience in small, specialized teams
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex systems test events
- Record of success in contributing to the completion of programs and projects; ability to obtain results and make key recommendations
- Ability to provide high level summary of results and draw conclusions based on interpretation of data
- Willingness to learn stovepipe application configuration (MS DC/AD, Exchange, Fileshare, Web services), network configuration with virtualized OS.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a STEM subject, particularly systems engineering, network engineering, or cybersecurity
- IAT level III (CISA, GSE, SCNA, GCIH, CISSP (or Associate)) or IAM Level III (GSLC, CISM, CISSP (or Associate))
- Strong ability to use software to develop drawings and diagrams such as network diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, data flow diagrams
- Strong experience in stovepipe application configuration (MS DC/AD, Exchange, Fileshare, Web services), network configuration with virtualized OS.
- Demonstrated experience leading small, specialized teams
- Demonstrated experience leading complex systems test events
- Demonstrated experience operating in a cyber range environment
Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education and/or advanced certification;a Master's degree will be considered in lieu of 1 years of professional experience; a PHD will be considered in lieu of 2 years of professional experience. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
