Responsibilities

The Individual Therapist is responsible for conducting assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, facilitating therapy sessions, and providing clinical support within a therapeutic program for young adults and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Therapy Facilitation:

    • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions in alignment with Newport Healthcare's clinical model.
  2. Assessment and Planning:

    • Perform initial risk assessments and create safety plans upon client admission.
    • Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans within required timelines.
  3. Collaboration and Coordination:

    • Work with the treatment team to coordinate treatment goals and services.
    • Conduct 30-day reviews and updates of treatment plans.
    • Provide progress updates to parents in collaboration with family therapists.
  4. Crisis Management:

    • Conduct risk and crisis assessments as necessary and implement crisis intervention strategies.
  5. Documentation:

    • Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to established standards.
  6. Team Participation:

    • Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision sessions.
  7. Professional Development:

    • Participate in meetings, trainings, and conferences, representing Newport Healthcare as required.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school required.
  • Licensed or ability to transfer license in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work or Clinical Psychologist in the state in which services are provided
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with adolescents/young adults required.
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders or trauma-informed treatment preferred.

Compensation for this role ranges from $60,480 - $80,000 annually depending on education and experience.
