Position Responsibilities

The Strategic Director of Technology Initiatives and Operations, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), will play a key role in driving strategic initiatives and serve as a trusted advisor, partner, and a liaison for the Engineering and Technology (E&T) leadership teams. In this role, you will drive operational excellence, align priorities, and enable the leadership team to execute on business objectives. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with a strategic and growth-minded approach.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the CTO and leadership team to define and execute strategic priorities across E&T, leading high-impact projects, providing technical and strategic guidance, and ensuring cross-functional coordination and alignment with overall business objectives
  • Act as an extension of the CTO, working closely with engineering leaders to address cross-functional and enterprise-wide challenges, serving as a trust thought partner and sounding board to senior leaders.
  • Oversee and manage high-priority projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company goals.
  • Provide technical expertise and insights to support decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Drive the communication strategy by supporting the CTO with preparation for quarterly meetings and presentations with clear and compelling messages.
  • Develop and deliver high-impact presentations that effectively communicate the organization's technology vision, strategic priorities, and product roadmap to executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Capture and synthesize key points from strategic meetings by distilling complex discussions into clear takeaways, documented decisions, and actionable follow-ups to drive alignment and execution.
  • Anticipate problems, provide diplomacy, and drive balanced perspectives to help ensure success.
  • Display an intense focus on achieving both short- and long-term goals, demonstrating an ability to drive and execute an agenda in a fast-paced, dynamic, and fluid environment.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience working on or with technical teams is required for this position.
  • Proven ability to craft and deliver executive-level presentations and communications, translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate strategic conversations into actionable outcomes across teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in facilitating cross-functional collaboration and driving measurable business results in matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent project and program management skills, with a track record of managing complex initiatives using modern collaboration tools.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize insights across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including experience with data analysis, change management, and digital transformation.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with shifting priorities and rapid iteration.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise technology trends, software development lifecycles, and emerging technologies, particularly AI and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and awareness of competitive and technological landscapes.

Compensation Information

The U.S. salary range for this position is $117500.00 - $205750.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
