PURPOSE:
Director, Signal Integrity - Leader of a small worldwide distributed team of SI/PI Engineers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In the role as Manager of the Signal Integrity group you will be responsible for managing and leading the team on completing tasks on time and solving short- and long-term problems. You will lead a technical group, responsible for production design analysis SI/PI, for improving SI/PI performance, measurement and characterizing of SI/PI performance. In this role you will be working with customers, internal/external stakeholders and engineers across multiple sites, California, US, and Asia Region and define and negotiate specifications which will drive business results. You will be reporting to the VP of the Design Organization.
The Signal Integrity group is responsible for:
- Model/design power distribution on PCBs, packages, connectors and probe cards.
- Model/design high-density I/O's on PCBs, packages, connectors and probe cards with respect to parameters such as reflections, bandwidth, and cross talk.
- Provide, document and train the Design Organization on design constraints, specifications and solutions to PCB and package layout based on Signal Integrity.
- Support probe card development activities in the Design group.
- Improve Design Organization's understanding of Signal Integrity fundamentals resulting in shorter cycle time and higher quality product.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering is required with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience in Signal Integrity engineering or electrical design with focus on SI/PI.
- Work experience with at least 2+ years with direct SI management experience.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Familiarity with electronics components and PCB and packaging technologies.
- Experience with signal integrity design with emphasis on power and signal distribution at PCB, packaging, and/or system level.
- Experience with simulation and design tools such as: PowerSI, SIWave, ADS, HFSS, SPICE, Allegro, Matlab.
- Excellent analytical, design, and debug skills.
The pay range for this role in Livermore CA is between $192,400 and $252,525. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
