Technology Service Corporation (TSC) is seeking a Harness Designer to support the design and integration of electrical harness systems for spacecraft (SV) applications. The ideal candidate will an electrical engineer with a strong background in spacecraft harness design and implementation. This position will be part time on-site at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC and will be in a classified environment. No remote work is available.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical harnesses for spacecraft systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and 3D harness model tools
  • Select appropriate connectors, backshells, wires, cables, and shielding based on mission requirements and environmental considerations.
  • Collaborate closely with systems engineering, mechanical design, avionics, and manufacturing teams to support end-to-end harness design.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and program-specific standards
  • Support design reviews, part selection, grounding and shielding strategies, and documentation release.
  • Provide support during integration and test phases, including troubleshooting harness-related issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 5 or more years of related experience preferably in spacecraft or aerospace applications.
  • US Citizenship with minimum of top-secret DoD security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain and TS SCI.
  • Hands-on experience with spacecraft harness design tools and software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Direct experience with space vehicle (SV) harness design and integration.
  • Knowledge of environmental requirements for spaceflight hardware (thermal, vibration, radiation).
  • Experience supporting flight hardware builds, inspections, or anomaly resolution.
  • Strong analytical skills, including data analysis and problem solving.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
