Dietetic Technician

Position Summary:

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking Dietetic Technicians for per-diem, part-time, and full-time roles. These positions include weekday day shifts and weekend coverage options.

All new hires will participate in a 1-2 month training period, which includes 2-3 weekday shifts per week to support full orientation and clinical readiness.

Dietetic Technicians support the Clinical Nutrition team by assisting in the delivery of high-quality nutritional care to patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Clinical Dietitian in providing optimal nutritional care to patients.

• Screening patients who may be at nutritional risk and providing supportive clinical care and follow-up.

• Calculating patient nutrient and energy intake when ordered by a provider or requested by a dietitian.

• Providing nutrition-related education for patients and caregivers on select modified diets.

• Monitoring understanding and implementation of nutrition interventions and communicating progress to the Registered Dietitian.

• Modifying care plans as needed in collaboration with the Clinical Dietitian.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Associate's degree from an ACEND-accredited program is required.

• Bachelor's degree from an ACEND-accredited program is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of one to two years of related experience preferred.

• Proficiency with nutrient analysis software and basic computer skills.

• Strong communication and analytical skills to support patient-centered care.

Licensure/Certifications:

• Registered Dietetic Technician credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is preferred.

• ServSafe Certification is preferred.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
