JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to. Responsible for identifying and elevating quality issues, and for speedily resolving them to ensure zero impact to the customer. Work in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team.
  • Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues.
  • Monitor key process parameters to isolate problem areas and correct any potential for escapes.
  • Daily interaction with operators/inspectors and supervision to identify and improve product and process quality.
  • Lead product, process and Quality Management System (QMS) auditing.
  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the QMS requirements (QS9100/QS13100).
  • Exercise substantial initiative/judgement in work methods and interpreting goals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Strong knowledge of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and AS13100.
  • Understanding of engineering drawing interpretation, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 4-year Degree in a technical field.
  • 7+ years' experience in manufacturing quality, preferably in a machining environment.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt desired or Black Belt preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) desired.
