GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: With minimal supervision, performs skilled and non-routine electronic and mechanical assembly operations on components, printed circuit boards, and subassemblies or in support of development projects, in accordance with established standards using visual aids and verbal and/or written instructions. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None Keyword: electronics assembler, electronics, electro-mechanical, components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, soldering, cable harness, production support Required Experience: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary Ability to adhere to workplace rules Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and component identifications Ability to work with minute parts and demonstrate finger dexterity Ability to form and bend wires to specifications Ability to work with stripping tools, wire cutters, soldering equipment, pace rework machine, SMT mounting and insertion tools, coax cable assembly tools, degreasers, and other tools of the trade EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: HS Diploma or equivalent preferred A minimum of 8 years of experience Successful completion of IPC Solder Training and Certification within initial 2 weeks of employment with 4% or less defect rate on solder certification board Mechanical Assembly certification Rework certification Surface Mount Hand Installation certified Board Coating certified Experience with cable continuity testing Experience with complex wiring of harnesses Experience with developing work instructions and process problem identification WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Production environment Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time Ability to perform repetitive motion (use of arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity for small parts assembly, frequent use) Ability to lift iup to 30 pounds 20/20 vision and color vision with or without corrective lenses THE ABOVE STATEMENTS ARE INTENDED TO DESCRIBE THE GENERAL NATURE AND LEVEL OF WORK BEING PERFORMED BY INDIVIDUALSiASSIGNED TO THIS CLASSIFICATION.
