All faculty at Georgia State are, as part of their essential job duties, expected to: (1) be physically present on-campus as needed to contribute to Georgia State's in-person educational experience, and (2) be able to teach in each of the following instructional modalities - in-person, online, or blended/hybrid - as determined by their Department Chair or Dean.

The Neuroscience Institute was founded in 2008 and comprises 21 core faculty in the Petit Science Center, and more than 50 associate faculty across 13 departments. Our research addresses the development, structure and function of the nervous system. Neuroscience is a rapidly expanding field, and the institute is uniquely positioned to contribute to it.

Georgia State University is pleased to announce a call for applicants for the Wilczynski- Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Future-Faculty Fellowship Program. This program recognizes the need to support high-caliber future faculty researchers.

The program aims to develop neuroscience scholars for possible tenure-track appointments at Georgia State University and other research universities

This is a three-year appointment. Fellows will function as mentored investigators pursuing research in strategically selected areas that capitalize on resident strengths in the Neuroscience Institute and the Departments participating in the GSU Brains and Behavior Program and leverage intellectual and infrastructural resources. Fellows will be matched with a team of co-mentors and will have opportunities for professional development (e.g., training in grant writing, lab management, pedagogy, mentoring, etc.) aimed at preparing them for future faculty roles.

There will be opportunities to mentor undergraduate students and co-mentor graduate student(s) in their research program.

Successful candidates must demonstrate capacity to publish high-impact peer-reviewed research, and a demonstrated research agenda that aligns with or complements areas of strength in the Neuroscience Institute and/or Brains & Behavior faculty/departments.

Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related discipline.

Preferred qualifications include two years of prior postdoctoral experience and demonstrated interest and aptitude for collaborating across fields and disciplines.

A criminal background check is required.

The position may require non-standard hours, including day, evening, online, hybrid, and weekend.
