Controls Technician

Job Summary: Maintains, troubleshoots, and improves the plant controls systems. Provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.

Duties:

• Work with all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
• Working with Allen Bradley and Rockwell systems.
• Troubleshoot and modify PLC/PAC programs and hardware.
• Assist in maintaining all plant associated networks, servers, and software.
• Assist in new controls projects and upgrades.
• Repair, replace, troubleshoot, and recommend different plant instrumentation when necessary.
• Help train employees on equipment operation as necessary
• Improve system performance by identifying problems and recommending changes, proactively.
• Must be willing to be on a call rotation.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or minimum of two-three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Experience communicating professionally

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience with MS office products, MS Operating Systems (Windows 7 to current) and Windows 10, mainstream internet browsers, laptops, hardware, laser printers. Preferred experience with Allen Bradley and Rockwell software.

Pay:

Pay range will be between $29.42 and $41.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule:

Normal schedule will be Monday through Friday day shift. Will be on an on call rotation with others in the department for after hours calls.
